“Stroke of Luck” was inspired by the custom of wearing something green in celebration of St Patrick’s Day.  The Green Pyrite gemstones are rich in green color with generous flecks of gold somewhat reminiscent of discovering the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  
 
Pyrite was highly prized by the native Indian tribes of the Americas as a healing stone of magic and was polished into mirrors for gazing and divination.  Before the 1800’s, it was favored as a decorative stone, carved into rosettes, shoe buckles, rings, snuff boxes and other ornaments.  It was extremely popular in England during the Victorian Age for its use in jewelry. 
 
Pyrite is known as a protective, shielding stone and is excellent to wear to deflect harm and danger.  It is especially helpful if you are performing hazardous work or traveling in unfamiliar territories.  It is also known to guard you against external control influences, criticism and manipulations by anyone else.
